June 30: The Bistro Circle Card

When you purchase The Bistro Circle Card (PHP 1000.00) at any of the listed restaurants below, you get:

  • 20% discount on food and beverage for one entire year ;)
  • A birthday voucher that gives you 25% off (not so much a yey since that’s only plus 5% the original discount you get, hehe)
  • 8 vouchers that entitle you to a free regular-sized—not miniature—appetizer at each of the participating Bistro restaurants (I like this a lot because they don’t give any purchase requirement, so you can actually just go in, and avail of the freebie, and leave! :p)

Anyway, here are the participating restaurants and their branches:

  • Italianni’s (Alabang Town Center, Bonifacio High Street, Eastwood City Libis, Eton Centris Walk, Gateway, Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 2, MarQuee Mall in Angeles, Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Robinsons Place Manila, and San Juan Greenhills)
  • TGI Friday’s (Alabang Town Center, Ayala Center Cebu, Bonifacio High Street, Brick Road in Sta. Lucia, Glorietta 3, MarQuee Mall in Angeles, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Place Manila, SM Mall of Asia, Tomas Morato, and Trinoma)
  • Fish & Co. (Alabang Town Center, Greenbelt 3, Shangri-La Mall, SM Mall of Asia, and Trinoma)
  • Flapjacks (Ayala Technohub, Greenbelt 2, Robinsons Place Manila, and Threatre Mall in Greenhills)
  • Pig Out (Nuvali in Sta. Rosa)
  • Billy Rock (Shangri-La Mall)
  • Krazy Garlik (Greenbelt 5, and Resorts World)
  • The Stock Market (Bonifacio High Street)

So far, I’m a happy customer!

June 30: Havaianas Slim Kokeshi

My less-than-6-month-old Havaianas perished that Thursday, and I had no choice but to get another pair. I feel pretty stupid for buying from Havaianas again, though, since their products aren’t durable enough, compared to Ipanema’s in particular.

But like I said, I didn’t have much of a choice. All Flip-Flops was the closest and most affordable—Do not judge! This is true!—option I could find here at Bonifacio High Street, which is where I work. And so, I ended up with these Kokeshi flip flops, which I don’t regret buying at all—until they break, of course. Hehe. They’re also not the cheapest (PHP 1495.00) but they were the only ones that appealed to me, besides the sling-back ones that gave up on me.

June 26: Prestige Brow Shaping Kit

I re-dyed my hair with Revlon’s Strawberry Blonde recently, making the difference between my black brows and my currently orangey (ugh) brown hair even more noticeable. So I went to Beauty Bar (I was already in Greenbelt 5 anyway), scouted for products that could make my brows look more brown and less black, and saw this brow shaping kit by Prestige. Since I was on a tight budget, I had to stick to the more affordable products available in the store and bought this. I thought it looked promising anyway.

If not for the color difference between my hair and eyebrows, I’d think this product was perfect, at least in the sense that it’s not too pricey (PHP 550.00) for a kit that consists of two shades of brow powder, a mini brush, a mini tweezer, an arch guide and a mirror. But since it didn’t solve my problem, really, I kind of wish I went for the Billion Dollar Brows’ Hint of Tint instead, even if it’s twice the prize of what I got.

June 9: Vans x Hello Kitty Sneakers

Thanks to social networking and I was able to find out about this purrfect collaboration soon enough! I found out later on that their store only had one pair per size in stock for each Hello Kitty design. And so of course, I felt like a winner for being able to score this particular pair before any other girl with size-8 feet got them. :p

I know I usually make sure that my purchases are worth their price by using them over and over and over again. But this time around, it looks to me that it’s going to be a different case!

I’ve had these for more than two weeks already and I still haven’t worn them yet. They’re still 100% clean and sitting pretty inside the box, and honestly, I kind of just want them to stay that way. :|(PHP 2498.00 at Vans Concept Store, Glorietta 3)

May 27: Orangey Payday

Hello! As you can see, I haven’t been very active as a buyonic woman lately. I have several items which I bought within the past two months that I’ve decided to skip posting here, as they’re mostly just clothes… and I’m lazy. But, lo and behold, I am back!

—-

Two Fridays ago, my Philips earphones which I just bought last February stopped working and so there I was, together with my beloved co-worker Jel, back in iStudio, Bonifacio High Street. And since I didn’t have any specific model in mind, it became quite a task for me/us find just the right pair—not that there’s only one, really. So we looked, looked and looked until eventually, I started looking at other things I didn’t really have a need for.

That’s how these orange speakers ended up in my hands. They’re by Divoom and they only cost PHP 650.00 - that’s their regular price! Such a bargain, right? A bargain that apparently led to this splurge:

Urbanears’ earphones which I got for PHP 1200.00. Why I chose this one? I honestly have only two reasons:

1. It has a very impressive packaging.
2. It’s color orange, too, just like the speakers!

So now, this is what my iPod, in all its neon glory, looks like:

MARCH 9: Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (PHP 285.00 at Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street)
I’m already halfway through this book. I’m done with Italy (which is kind of sad because it was such a pleasant read), and, now, in the middle of her India adventure! In as much as I can’t wait to include this as one of my ‘achievements’ for 2011 by finishing it already, I am also enjoying it so much I don’t want it to end just yet.
